This 2-part fishing class will get you all the information on gear, fishing tackle, handling fish and catching fish to catch a lot of fish around the Chicago Suburbs (and everywhere). Fishing One is available this Saturday. Register below. This is the best fishing class taught by the highest-level instructor in the Chicago area. Former USA Fishing Team member Johnny Wilkins, US Open medalist and 3-time World Championships competitor will teach you the best methods to catch fish. About Your Instructor

REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Minimum 4 to run class – subject to registration minimums.
Look for confirmations and communications 2 hours prior to class or earlier. Site has a weather warning system. Classes are on unless you hear that weather is poor.

What you need for fishing class
Camera or phone camera. A drink. That’s it. We provide everything you need for classes. Classes are good for beginners, experienced anglers and families including kids 7 and up.
Have a Groupon? Groupons are good for Fishing 1 classes (only).
Register your Groupon fishing class using the above pulldown. $1 registration charge – (you will get a free fishing tool for the registration cost.). Save 20% on your Fishing 1 class. Note this is a 2-class series. You will need to purchase Fishing 2 separately from any coupons or offer sites and classes can be taken at any time.
The 2-class series will teach you about fish and how they feed. Great baits that will be revealed that can be purchased at better tackle stores. With the two fishing classes, you will catch more fish than those around you. Add a future Guided Fishing Session to take your fishing to the next level.
Fishing Class Chicago – Fishing One – Instruction 95%
will teach you the equipment and rigs that catch the most fish around Chicagoland (and the world!).
The rigs and tactics you learn will be the best methods to catch the following species of fish:
- Trout
- Bluegill
- Walleye
- Perch
- Crappie
- Channel Catfish
- Carp
- Largemouth Bass
- Smallmouth Bass
- Salmon & Steelhead Salmon
You will learn about the fishing pole and the fishing rod. Spin casting reel, floats & bobbers will be covered. Great baits that catch the most fish and biggest fish are discussed in Fishing 1 as well as two knots that are used to construct all fishing rigs. At the very end of the session, we will take a look at “the bite” and see how subtle the fish take the bait.

Class Two (Fishing 2) – Instruction 60% – Experiential 40%
teaches how to cast, detailed tips on spin casting, battling wind with floats, controlling the float with poles and handling fish. In Fishing 2, we will put together a pole float rig as well as a waggler float for spin casting.
