New fishers or parents struggle even at big box “Pro” stores to put together tackle that works. The reason, these are headquartered in Missouri, Minnesota or Florida and their tackle is a national selection of best sellers. Along with this, many stores have been selling the same items that are “best sellers” which don’t catch fish year-after-year. To make matters worse, the guy or girl in the polo shirt with the fish on it, they aren’t experts. They are hobbyists just like you, but they “seem” to know what they are talking about.
Skip the Chinese Amazon crap. I have tested much of it, and a lot of it is defective, breaks and is thrown in the garbage. So disappointing to wait for the arrival from over seas only to find out they use different measuring systems, and that the equipment doesn’t work. Trust me, I have thrown reels in the garbage after one use and entire shipments of floats from the factory because they sink. I have also fished in China and they fish for tiny carps – they don’t even have our fish species.
My tackle – tested, tried and true! I have fished all over the world. Each reel, each rod and every piece of tackle I sell – I use in competitions and when filming instructional videos or even when on vacation. If it isn’t awesome, I don’t sell it. Many of my floats and my spinning rods have a replacement warranty where you can get a new replacement sent to you or pay half the price of and get a brand new rod – no matter how you broke it. Try that with any other company.
The tackle site is LiveBaitFishingTackle.com so if you wish to check it out, take a look around – you can look at the offerings. I will recommend a kit, some tools, a small tackle box and either a spinning rod or a float rod and a pole or two to complete your fishing tackle. I can fit your budget and get the tackle to you even set up if you wish, custom built to your specifications.
